* Flour 3 cups
* Cream ½ cup
* Egg yolks 5
* Whole egg 1

* Active bakery yeast 20 gram
* Confectioners sugar ⅓ cup
* Vanilla extract 1 tablespoon
* Sugar 120 gram
* Lemon zest 1 teaspoon

Directions to prepare

  1. Take a large bowl, combine egg yolk, ⅓ rd cup of flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar yeast and some water to prepare a soft loaf. Let it rest in a warm place for the next 2 hours.

  2. Sift some flour on your work surface, pour half portion of the remaining sugar, 3 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of butter. Knead all these ingredients thoroughly with 3 tablespoons of butter. 

  3. Knead it to give a ball shape and allow it to rise for 2 hours in a warm place. 

  4. After waiting for 2 hours, combine the remaining ingredients including egg yolk, flour and sugar. Once you knead it properly, sprinkle flour in a bowl and allow it to sit for the next two hours. 

  5. Once it is properly emulsified, put the dough on your work surface, add lemon zest, vanilla and cream. Knead the mixture again properly to mix these flavoring agents. 

  6. Spread your dough with a rolling pin on the work surface and fold it with the remaining butter. Allow the dough to rest for 30 minutes with butter and repeat the process of rolling again. 

  7. Take your star-shaped mold and fill it with the dough. Again allow the dough to rest for 20 minutes in the mold until it rises. 

  8.  Preheat your oven at 180 degrees Celsius and bake the dough for the next 30 minutes. 

  9. After taking out, unmold the cake immediately and sit on a cooling rack. Sprinkle powdered sugar over it and serve.
